Welcome!

Hello. My name is Robyn, I live in Saskatoon, and welcome to my new blog. I have an old blog that I used to update a lot but then basically only got around to once or twice a year, and I have decided to retire it and start fresh. My old blog was basically whatever I felt like talking about, good and bad, throughout the majority of my mid-twenties, but I would like to try something different now. I'm older and perhaps marginally wiser and want my online space to reflect this.

I've had the idea for a new blog for several years (?? M.Sc. in procrastination, thesis in starting a blog) but put it off until I could figure out a) a good name and b) a theme I figured I could stick to, and I have finally settled on "Saskatude". I consider it to be a catchy-enough play on words for having a good attitude, or gratitude, in this place I ended up in and probably will stay for the rest of my life. Sometimes, especially in the winter, I wish I lived somewhere else, and really have to search for the reasons (other than family) that this is where I should be. It's also an ongoing journey to figure out creative ways to prevent succumbing to the winter blues, and just living a more mindful, positive, and healthy life in general. There is enough negativity and complaining and calling-out of controversies elsewhere on the internet; I don't need to add to it.

I am not sure yet if I'll follow a regular posting schedule, or how the theme will evolve. I won't be focusing religiously on prairie living, but it's a context one can't really escape from. I hope you enjoy reading my blog.

Above is a photo of a clump of prairie wheat that spontaneously crops up every year behind my garage. Iconic Saskatchewan with a suburban twist.
